2.007

Changes since my last blog post:

2.007 (November 21, 2007)
/stylesheets/admin_style.css - another CSS fix. Thanks to Chaz again at Full City Media

/admin/users_edit.cfm - When using encrypted passwords, do NOT display password in form, and warn the admin

/cfcs/user.cfc - when saving a user, hash password if encrypting

/cfcs/settings.ini.cfm - version

2.006 (November 19, 2007)
/cfcs/forum.cfc - Access fix

/cfcs/thread.cfc - ditto /cfcs/settings.ini.cfm - version

/installation/to2/IMPORTANT NOTE.txt - note about missing avatar column in PDF

/installation/forums.mdb - updated Access db

2.005

Today's release actually goes up 2 versions. I had a minor update last week that I never uploaded. All in all, here is what is changed:

  • New links to the 'last' page will go to the proper page. So if you click on the last post link, and the thread had N pages, you will end up on page N.
  • Security applied to RSS.cfm at the message level. Thanks to Scott P for finding it.
  • IE CSS fix in the admin.

2.0 is here!

2.0 is here - but I'll be writing about it up on my main blog: http://www.coldfusionjedi.com.

Permissions Proposal

Please let me know what you think of this proposal for Galleon and permissions.

  • There will still be 4 roles as there are now: anonymous, members, moderators, and admin.
  • A conference and a forum, by default, is Viewable by All, Postable by Members, Editable by Moderators, and Admin stay as they are.
  • As an admin, you will be able to add more roles/groups.
  • As an admin, you can say Conference/Forum X is NOT viewable by all, just by members/moderators/admin. This creates a conference/forum that isn't visible to the world.
  • As an admin, you can say Conference/Forum X is viewable by group Y, a new group you have made. This allows for private conferneces/forums.
  • You can't delete the main groups. If you do, things will break down.

For the above - I mean forums only, not conferences. I don't want to worry about forum-conference level checking, so I'll keep it simple and stick to just checking forums.

Thoughts?

Small update to user editing

The last release has a minor fix to user editing.

Fixes in last release

First, I checked in the missing default Gravatar picture. Then I renamed one of the utils methods. Not for any particular reason. I promise.

Fix to RSS

The latest minor update fixes the title used in the RSS feed to be dynamic.

Code down for a bit

Got a problem with the new factory CFCs. Code should be back by tonight.

1.7.009 fixes Gravatars

The subject says it all. Thanks to Pete Freitag for discovering why Gravatars weren't working anymore.

1.7.008 Released

Two changes here:

1) Support [IMG] tag in message editing. Idea taken from Rick Root's CFMBB.

2) Improved speed of stats page.

Minor update to mails

I released a minor update today. It just adds the username to emails sent to users.
